Lutheranism: A tradition steeped in education
St. John’s Lutheran Church offers Sunday School classes for children ages 2 through high school. Sunday School classes are held between church services from 9:15am – 10:15am each Sunday throughout the school year. We are blessed with wonderful teachers who enjoy planning interactive and educational lessons for their students. Each Sunday, the younger children (2 yrs old – 2nd grade) start with a group opening/activity, and then disperse to their individual classrooms for their weekly lesson, while the older children meet in their individual classrooms for the full hour.
Along with the Sunday School curriculum this year, we will also be working to incorporate additional extra faith learning activities. Another element we are excited about this year is educating the children about the visual elements that they see in church each week and how they tie to the church calendar and seasons.
Our hope is for all students to find Sunday School enjoyable and exciting. We promise to provide a nurturing environment so that the students enjoy coming each week to learn about God and make Him a part of their lives.
We would like to invite anyone interested to join our Sunday School program. If you have any questions regarding the program, please contact Angie Haines or Johanna Ellison.
